🎶 Activity: Soundtrack of Me
Objective: Encourage emotional awareness and creative expression through music and stories.
How to Do It:
After reading a story or finishing a favorite chapter, ask your child to pick a song that matches the mood of the story or a character’s feelings. You can play short clips of songs and talk about why they chose them.
Parent Prompt:
“If this story had a soundtrack, what song would play here?”
“Does this song feel happy, brave, or sad — just like the story?”
“What would your song sound like if you were in this story?”
Connection Tip:
Make a shared playlist called “Our Reading Soundtrack”. Add a new song after each story and play it during car rides or cozy reading times to reinforce memory, mood, and connection.
