This AHEAD short course is designed for self-access. It should take around 2 hours to complete. You can complete it in any order you like but we recommend working through sequentially. There are inbuilt reflections and tasks to help you embed the learning into your day-to-day work. By the end of the course, you should: Be aware of diversity in Education and how traditional teaching approaches can create unnecessary barriers. Understand how Universal Design for Learning (or UDL for short) is an inclusive Education framework that gives staff in Education guidance to deal with diverse learners. Get insights into “UDL in practice”, Develop an awareness of how UDL can inform your practices, Help connect you to further UDL courses and communities of practice.

Our Branch

The Navy League of Canada, Sudbury Branch, is a dedicated group of community volunteers committed to developing the next generation of engaged, capable young Canadians through maritime-inspired programs.

We sponsor two cadet corps serving youth across the Greater Sudbury area. Whether your child is drawn to adventure, teamwork, discipline, or simply making lifelong friends — there is a place for them here.

Our programs build character, resilience, and a deep sense of civic pride. Many of our graduates carry the values of the sea with them for life.

Royal Canadian Sea Cadets

Ages 12 – 18

A national program for young Canadians aged 12 to 18. Sea Cadets develop leadership, seamanship skills, and a strong sense of service — all in a structured, supportive environment.

  • Summer training opportunities across Canada

Navy League Cadet Corps

Ages 9 – 12

A wonderful introduction to the cadet world for younger youth. Navy League Cadets builds confidence, citizenship, and a sense of belonging through fun maritime-themed activities.
